RAW THRILLS TO BOW TARGET: TERROR;
BETSON TO MARKET VIDS FROM JARVIS-LEAD GAMEHOUSE
(posted Tuesday, January 27, 2004 -- 2:00PM)
Raw Thrills, Inc. has selected Betson Enterprises to globally market its first game, TARGET: TERROR. Raw Thrills studio head, Eugene Jarvis, lead designer of such games as
Defender, Robotron, Cruis’n USA, Cruis’n World and Cruis’n Exotica has "put together a 'dream team' including veteran designers from Midway, Atari, and Microsoft dedicated to providing the finest original content to the arcade industry."
“Game operators today are frustrated at the lack of competitively-priced compelling games with strong player appeal," Jarvis said. "Too often, recent games have been ultra-low budget dogs, ports of faded consumer titles, or overpriced white elephants that just don’t earn. We aim to change that.”
Betson will represent Raw Thrills with a worldwide sales and marketing effort. H. Betti Industries’ Bob Geschine stated, “Partnering with Eugene and the rest of the team at Raw Thrills is very important to us and the rest of the coin-op amusement industry. Raw Thrills is not porting games, but creating original unique content for the coin-op marketplace. It is exciting to partner with a new, fresh company that has a talent-rich history in their ranks."
Jarvis further added that TARGET: TERROR will be unveiled at the ASI show in Las Vegas in March. TARGET: TERROR is a 2-player shooting game that challenges players to defeat terrorist attacks on the Golden Gate Bridge, the Los Alamos nuclear facility, and Denver International Airport. The final mission is to stop a hijacked airliner from destroying the White House. TARGET: TERROR will be available for sale shortly after the show. Raw Thrills’ second game will be released later this year. According to the firm, this fall release will leverage many of Jarvis’ past successes and will also be sold and marketed on a worldwide basis by Betson Enterprises.
